I don`t think Jurkalne is difficult, but you have to take some things into account:

  1. Flying is in W, NW (ideally), NNW wind between 5 - 8 m/s, ideally ~ 7 m/s;
  2. Start at the sea coast (not from the top) if the wind is strong (7-8m/s).

    1 limited take-off with some obstacles, 1 take-off place with plenty of space;

both places have rotor on start due to sharp ridge!

MUST know the flying rules and follow them with other pilots in the air.

No problem, if you fly safe and have a valid license.

    careful when the place is crowded, not much space/time for maneuvres.

sur le forum DHV y’a pas mal de pilotes des pays de l’Est, ci-dessous copy/paste en brut et sans traduction d’un message qui parle de Lituanie et Lettonie.
Il y a un lien sur une vidéo sympa de vol sur une dune qui a l’air moins fréquentée que le Pyla -> il y a du gel au sol :wink:

da ich ein Litauer bin und staendiger Leser dieses Forums, hiermit einige
Infos.
Litauen ist flachland und hat nur einige kleine und kurze Haenge,
ausgenommen die Ostseite der Kurischen Nehrung. Die Nehrung ist am
meisten begehrtes Fluggebiet - gleichzeitig ein Naturschutzgebiet, wo die
Beamten tuechtig ihre Pflich erfuellen. Aber es gibt ein Paar stellen, wo
die Ausnahmen machen, z.B am 31km. Wind - O, SO, allerdings
verhaeltnismaessig selten. Ich empfehle sich mit Lokals in Verbindung zu

Auf der westlichen Seite der Nehrung gibt nich hohe Duene. Beim staerkeren
Wind ist es moeglich von Klaipeda bis Juodkrante zu soaren. Auf dieser Seite
keine strenge Verbote.

Haenge: KERNAVE (35km von Vilnius) - SW, ZUBISCHKES (70km von Vilnius) - NO,
NETONYS (bei Kaunas - 100km von Vilnius) - SO, S. Wie gesagt, Haenge nur 30-40m hoch.

Winde. Beim Flugwetter fast immer an den Wochenenden in VALKININKAI (55km von Vilnius).
